Certified Great Britain 2013 £5 St. George and the Dragon NGC PF70

The 2013 Great Britain £5 St. George and the Dragon Silver Proof coin was issued by The Royal Mint to celebrate the royal birth of Prince George of Cambridge. The primary design features Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous St. George and the Dragon motif, showing St. George mounted on horseback as he defeats the dragon below. This iconic design first appeared on the modern British sovereign in 1817 and remains one of the most recognizable images in British coinage. The opposite side features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the denomination “FIVE POUNDS.”

This example is certified by NGC as PF70 Ultra Cameo, the highest proof grade, with the special “One of First 2500 Struck” designation. Struck in .925 sterling silver, the coin has a denomination of five pounds, a weight of 28.28 grams, a diameter of 38.61 mm, and an actual silver weight of approximately 0.841 troy ounce.
