Certified Great Britain 1935 Silver Jubilee Incuse Edge Lettering Silver Crown NGC MS64+

The 1935 Great Britain Silver Jubilee Crown was issued to commemorate the 25th anniversary of King George V’s reign. The obverse features the left-facing portrait of King George V by Bertram Mackennal, surrounded by the Latin royal legend. The reverse displays Percy Metcalfe’s highly stylized Art Deco interpretation of St. George slaying the dragon, a design often nicknamed the “Rocking Horse” crown because of the horse’s unusual modernist form.
