The 1900-S is a gem to find in all grades since most have been lost or melted! Kicking off the turn of the century, the 1900-S Morgan was minted at the San Francisco's second building, known as the Granite Lady, wherein just the basement was actually made out of granite. The Granite Lady was actually one of the only buildings to withstand the 1906 earthquake, which brought so much devastation to the city. The San Francisco Mint is the most successful of the four mints that produced Morgan silver dollars. In just its first year, it turned $4 million dollars worth of gold into coins. Your 1900-S Morgan silver dollar is struck with the "S" mint-mark and is considered to be in extra fine condition. Extra fine condition is the preferred condition of beginner Morgan collectors because of the striking quality you get at such a reasonable price!
