Description:
This silver coin was struck in 1793 during the early years of the French First Republic, after the fall of King Louis XVI. Known as the “Six Livres,” it was part of the Constitutional coinage issued during the French Revolution. The obverse features the “Génie de la Liberté” (Genius of Liberty), an allegorical winged figure inscribing the word CONSTITUTION on a tablet, accompanied by a rooster, the national symbol of France, and fasces representing unity and authority.
