The 2013-P Mount Rushmore (SD) Uncirculated Quarter commemorates a famous monument. Mount Rushmore National Memorial is one of most beloved landmarks in the country and is based in South Dakota. It is viewed as a little bit of history that can be seen for years to come. The new 2013 Mount Rushmore coin is a dedication to the phenomenal artwork by sculptors, who risked their lives to finish the masterpiece. It is amazing that the landmark is hand-carved, taking 5 years to finish. The main sculptor died, leaving the job to his son. It is truly a family work of art. Fun fact: the initial plans were to carve each president's whole body into the granite but obviously was stopped after the faces were finished.
