  • Description:

Lady Liberty is included on the obverse of the Barber Quarter. Liberty's look is inspired by a Grecian Goddess and she wears an Acanthus leaf cap as a crown. "United States of America," and the coin's mint date are also simply stamped on the obverse of the Barber Quarter. The reverse reveals a heraldic eagle, draped in a shield and is holding arrows and olive branches in its talons. This design has been used over time on most US currency and is the US national seal. This design is still used on modern day coinage and represents the strength of the nation, while understanding the price that needs to be paid for freedom. The 1907-O Barber Quarter is in very good condition, exhibiting wear on the entire coin, with serious wear on the main images.

90% silver, or also known as junk silver, is a favorite among collectors and investors. For some, the silver content is the main selling point, wherein others enjoy the numismatic values of the lower minted dates and mint-marks. Some of these 90% series gets more attention than others, such as the Morgan silver dollar or the Mercury dime. But there are other successful collections that don't get too much time in the lime light, such as the Barber coinage. Like many other collections, the Barber Quarter was minted at all four mints. The Old Mint, served as a branch of the US Mint from 1838-1861, then again from 1879-1909; serving alongside three other mints in order to produce the highly collectible Morgan silver dollar. Decommissioned in 1909, the New Orleans Mint has been used as an assay office, a fallout shelter, and a storage facility for the US Coast Guard. The Old Mint is considered an official historical landmark and is presently the oldest structure in the US. The Old Mint also participated in other important coin series, such as the Barber coinage, wherein it is one of the only coin collections that has the same design on all denominations.
