Susan B Anthony Dollar 1979-S BU

After the run of the Eisenhower Dollar, the US Mint wanted to move on to the next coin. Since the Eisenhower Dollar's reception wasn't very welcome, the US Mint decided to change the portrait to Lady Liberty once more. After several protests and deliberation, it was decided that a real female person would grace the obverse of the new dollar. Social reformer, Susan B. Anthony was chosen, and without much hesitation her portrait became the face of the short-lived dollar. Know for her antislavery and women's suffrage activism, Anthony started her career as a social reformer at the young age of 17. Now, her efforts will forever be remembered and honored on the US dollar. The 1979-S Susan B. Anthony Dollar carries the "S" mint-mark and is in pristine condition.
