  • Description:

The Philadelphia Mint was the first mint facility to be minted in the US. The Philadelphia Mint was established in 1792, as a result of the Founding Fathers desiring to become a blip on the international commerce map. In order to trade overseas, the US needed a form of currency and the Coinage Act of 1792 was the beginning of a long continuing history. Philadelphia was the country's capital at the time so naturally the first mint was placed there. Your 1925 Peace Silver dollar was minted at the Philadelphia Mint and since it was the first mint, the Philadelphia coins do not contain mint-marks. This coin is also in brilliant uncirculated, exhibiting brilliant mint luster with minor contact marks. The Peace silver dollar is the first silver dollar to represent peace in the US, with goddess of Liberty as the main appeal on the obverse.

★★★★★ great value / pristine coin

A non-key date - keeps the price reasonable - closer to it's bullion value. The mint condition of the coin - gives it a greater market value. The fair market value I paid - for me - gives it a balanced collector's / investment value.
★★★★★ As nice as expected.
