Details
Offered here is an 1809 Classic Head Half Cent certified MS60 Details by ANACS with an "Altered Surfaces" designation. Designed by John Reich, the Classic Head Half Cent series was struck from 1809 through 1836 and represents one of the earliest copper coinage types produced by the United States Mint. The obverse features Liberty wearing a fillet inscribed "LIBERTY," while the reverse displays the denomination "HALF CENT" within a laurel wreath.
