  • Description:

Coins may have whats known as milk spots or white spots on them. These coins are from original mint rolls. In honor of the arctic polar bear, which is believed to be on the verge of extinction, the world renown Royal Canadian Mint has issued this very special coin. With only 20,000 bears left in the wild, it is no wonder why the Royal Canadian Mint decided to commemorate such special species. The arctic polar bear isn't the RCM's first animal to be featured on their coveted pure silver coins. Outside of the Silver Maple Leaf coin, the RCM has several coin series, most of which only last for a couple of years then a new series emerges. The Wildlife Series was a 6 coin collection, producing 2 coins a year that brought attention to a struggling species. This series became so popular, since the mintages have been competitively low for this collection, that this series is still being sought after by investors and collectors. The Royal Canadian Mint decided to produce an "unnamed" series that consisted of 1.5oz silver coins, instead of the usual 1oz. An arctic fox has accompanied the polar bear, along with plans of a new polar bear with cub coin to be released in 2015.

Your 2013 Canadian Silver Polar Bear coin is guaranteed to weigh approximately 1.5oz of .9999 silver and comes in tubes of the quantity 15. With RCM's reputation of high quality striking, it isn't surprising this coin is considered brilliantly uncirculated but resembles a proof-like strike as well.
