  • Description:

To celebrate the People's Republic of China's production of bullion commemorative coins, Panda America has released the 2009 Chinese Silver Panda 30th Anniversary Commemorative coin. Like all of the other Chinese bullion coins, this coin weighs one solid ounce of pure silver and displays the excellent "freshly minted" look that is common for the amazing standards of the brilliant uncirculated Chinese Panda coins. The 2009 Anniversary Panda also comes in the usual mint-sealed capsule for extreme protection against the elements that can harm silver. Due to the constant changing of the reverse designs, some silver panda years are harder to find than others. Only 300,000 of these gems were minted so once supplies run out, it will be more difficult to find and replace these coins since it is a commemorative.

The reverse design on this anniversary coin is the exact design that is presented on the regular 2009 Chinese Silver Panda coin. Instead of being the ferocious, carnivorous beasts we are used to, panda bears do not prey on any animals and in fact, only eat bamboo for 16 hours a day. When a panda is threatened, that is the only time they are connected to being as fierce as a tiger. This hidden quality in pandas is one the reasons they are called spirit animals. Pandas encourage us to enjoy life's simple pleasures but to also stay cautious and stand up for ourselves when need be.
