  • Description:

Only 95,000 Mexican Silver Libertads were minted in 1999, forging these bullion coins into the extremely collectible coin range. The Mexican Libertads' appeal is gaining attention due to the incredibly low mintages and the dazzling designs featured on the coins. Coin collectors are also intrigued about owning a coin series produced out of the oldest mint in the Americas: the Mexican Mint. Although the actual design of the coin doesn't change annually, silver investors enjoy the anticipation of adding these historically interesting coins to their collection. These bullion coins are promised to be .999 fine silver, in brilliant uncirculated condition, and packaged in a protective flip while in-transit.

When you look at the Libertad, you are immediately enamoured by the beautiful goddess, Victoria, gracing the obverse of the coin. Her name literally means victory and she symbolizes independence from Spain for the Mexican people. Her slender body is wrapped in a cascading drape as she balances on one foot. Her elegant wings extend to almost the top of the coin and her balletic arms are outstretched and open, as if welcoming the victor from battle. Behind her are the volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl, that are said to have been star-crossed lovers in ancient times. These mountains represent the love and devotion of these lovers and how they will spend eternity side-by-side. It is stated, on the obverse, the purity and authenticity of the silver coin.
