  • Description:

The Morgan silver dollar was first introduced in 1878, when assistant engraver of the US Mint designed the coin. This assistant engraver would become Chief engraver 40 years later, George T. Morgan. Morgan grew up learning the art of engraving coins in England before he moved his talents to the US. Morgan worked under a familiar name, William Barber, when he designed the Morgan Silver dollar. Morgan was also responsible for other coin's designs, such as the Columbian Exposition half dollar. But the Morgan was what he became famous for. Your 1890 Morgan Silver Dollar was minted by the Philadelphia sector of the US Mint and carries no mint-mark underneath the eagle's tail feathers. It contains 90% silver and is in almost uncirculated condition.Your coin will come delivered in a coin flip to ensure protection while in transit.
