In 1986, the US Mint resurrected the much beloved Walking Liberty design by placing it on the obverse of every silver eagle coin. The Walking Liberty design originated in 1916, being the obverse design of the US half dollar from 1916-1947. Adolph A. Weinman is the American/German sculptor who is responsible for the iconic figure. Weinman's artwork is scattered throughout the US since it has such an important role in US history. Another familiar design of Weinman's is the Mercury dime, which was in circulation from 1916-1945 and is now sought after for its silver content.
The US mint decided to update the reverse design, of the American Silver Eagle. The Certified Uncirculated Silver Eagle 2021 MS69 NGC Type 1 is the final date for the original reverse design and will be replaced. Instead of the Coat of Arms design, the eagle will now be in flight, tightly clutching an olive branch. The font for the coin's weight and purity will also be different than the original.

-Obverse: The obverse previews the Lady Liberty, gracefully draped in a flowing gown and an American flag hung over her shoulders. The obverse also bears the words, "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and the date of mintage of the coin.
-Reverse: The US National seal is on the reverse of every silver eagle to date. The seal consists of a large eagle with wings outspread and the infamous saying, "E pluribus unum," written on a banner. Each of the eagle's talons are holding something; the right is clenching a single olive branch to represent a peaceful nation, while the other is holding exactly 13 arrows as a respect to the original 13 colonies. The coin's weight and purity is also stamped on the reverse.
