Details
The 1843 Seated Liberty Silver Dollar is an early United States silver dollar featuring Christian Gobrecht’s enduring Liberty Seated design. The obverse depicts Liberty seated upon a rock while holding a shield and liberty pole. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle holding arrows and an olive branch. This Philadelphia Mint issue was produced without a mintmark and predates the addition of the “In God We Trust” motto to the series.
