The 1903-O Morgan silver dollar was once believed to be one of the rarest Morgans minted. Then, in the 1960's, bags of 1903-O Morgans in Mint State condition flooded into the Philadelphia mint, raising the mintage of these Morgans. All of a sudden the tide had turned and it became easier for the collector to find a 1903-O Morgan in a Mint State condition than in a lower grade. This is one of few times that a lower grade Morgan is of higher value than its Mint State counterparts. Your 1903-O Morgan was minted in one of the oldest landmarks still standing and is in brilliant uncirculated condition. PCGS, another dependable grading company with very high standards, has issued your coin a MS62 grade. Since BU Morgans can receive any grade between MS60-MS70, this Morgan falls on the lower end of the BU scale.
