The 1889-CC Morgan is a hot commodity in the coin world, reigning high on every collector's list. Morgans that wear the "CC" mint-mark are naturally part of a lower mintage because they were minted the Carson City Mint. The Carson City Mint was a smaller mint that was decommissioned in 1893. Since it was a smaller mint, it couldn't produced as many Morgans as the other mints.
