The Certified Morgan Silver Dollar 1886-S MS63 PCGS has earned a grade that falls in the middle of the Sheldon BU grading scale and comes encased in an official PCGS holder. Only 750,000 Morgans were minted in 1886, increasing their numismatic value through the years. Out of the four original mints that produced the Morgan silver dollar, only two are still minting coins today. Being one of the most successful US Mints that is still operating today, the San Francisco Mint expanded and relocated three times in its first 30 years of business. The San Francisco Mint was first established in 1854, as a way to produce currency out of the gold that was being mined. In just its first year of production, the San Francisco Mint produced $4 million dollars of gold coins and were able to open a second facility.
