Certified Morgan Silver Dollar 1879-S MS66 PCGS

Many collectors have a hard time finding BU Morgan silver dollars with a grade higher than a MS65. This is due to a few different factors; the first one being how BU Morgans were stored. The US Mint had a reputation of over-minting Morgans, leaving bags and bags of these uncirculated coins to waste away in the Treasury and banks. The improper storage of these Morgans caused many of them to contain bag marks to one degree or another. All BU Morgans carry their original mint luster but depending on the amount of bag marks, that determines how high a grade the Morgan receives.
