The 1900 Great Britain Silver Crown is a late Victorian issue struck during the final full year of Queen Victoria’s reign. Certified by NGC as MS63, this crown features the mature “Veiled Head” portrait of Victoria facing left, designed by Sir Thomas Brock. The obverse legend identifies her as Queen of Great Britain and Empress of India, reflecting the imperial identity of Britain at the turn of the 20th century. This coin carries the regnal year LXIV on the edge, representing the 64th year of Victoria’s reign.
The reverse displays Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic St. George slaying the dragon design, a dramatic and highly recognizable motif used across British crowns and sovereign coinage. The date “1900” appears below the scene. This crown has a denomination of 5 Shillings, measures 38.61 mm in diameter, weighs 28.276 grams, and is struck in .925 fine silver with an actual silver weight of approximately 0.8409 troy ounce.
