The 1994-W World Cup Gold Five Dollar coin was issued by the United States Mint in support of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the first World Cup tournament hosted by the United States. Struck at the West Point Mint, this commemorative contains 0.2419 troy ounce of pure gold within an alloy of 90 percent gold and 10 percent copper. It weighs 8.36 grams, measures 21.6 mm in diameter, and has a thickness of 1.75 mm. Only 22,447 Mint State examples were produced.
