Details
This 1864 Two Cent Piece features the Large Motto variety and has been certified by PCGS in MS64RB condition. Designed by James Barton Longacre, the Two Cent Piece was introduced during the Civil War and became the first United States coin to display the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The Large Motto replaced the scarcer Small Motto design during the denomination’s inaugural year.
