The Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar 1880-CC "Reverse of 1878" Uncirculated GSA comes in its original packaging and contains the reverse design of the 1978 coin. Among the highly sought after Morgan silver dollars, the 1880-CC is one of 360,000 Morgans minted that year. Even though there was a discovery, in the 1960's, making the mintage of many "rare" years to increase, the 1880-CC's mintage remained the same. After the government stopped the allowance of exchanging silver certificates for silver dollars, a government "hoard" took place. This hoard occurred when the government broke the seal of many silver dollar bags and placed the uncirculated ones in GSA holders. Many collectors and dealers have removed the coins from their GSA holders, through the years but some have remained intact.
