The silver bullion coin is the second annual design for the Explorers' First Sightings set. A well-known wildlife author, John Gould, inspired the coin's reverse design, producing a natural depiction of Australia's native animal. These kangaroos are realistically drawn, making them seem more lifelike than the cartoonish portrayal some other bullion coins may have. Henry Richter, a talented artist, was called upon numerous times by the author to perfect the sketches straight from the Outback. This silver coin comes in a capsule and is placed in the official card from the Perth Mint. The card contains the original sketch by Henry Richter and the coin displays the end result of the inspired design. This real life depiction shows the silver investor a part of the beloved animal's world in the Outback. Two kangaroos are hunched over, peacefully enjoying a simple lunch of grass. These kangaroos are realistically drawn, making them seem more lifelike than the cartoonish portrayal some other bullion coins may have. One ounce of fine silver is written underneath the kangaroos. The obverse design is of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Australia 2014 is written along the curved side of the silver coin. The denomination is $1 and comes in a Frosted Uncirculated finish. The Royal Australian Mint produces unique bullion coins that are perfect for anyone looking to diversify their collection.
