The 1869 Liberty Head Gold Quarter Eagle is a low-mintage pre-1933 United States gold coin produced at the Philadelphia Mint. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the long-running Liberty Head Quarter Eagle series was issued from 1840 through 1907. Only 4,320 regular-strike examples were produced for circulation in 1869, giving the date additional numismatic interest within the series.
