When President Eisenhower died, in 1969, it was a no brainer that the next US dollar would portray the late president's face. The Eisenhower dollar has had a very slow take off but it is a favorite collection among younger collectors. Collectors, who gather Eisenhower dollars, enjoy the history they represent and are an inexpensive, non-stressful collection to start.
