The obverse design pictures an older Queen Elizabeth II, with her regal side stance. The lines on her face are intricately drawn, making her picture come to life through the coin. The crown she wears, on top of her curly hair, is small and detailed in design. The coin's year of mintage is "2018," and the coin's place of mintage is "Australia." Both of these are written in front of the Queen's prominent face.
