2014 1 oz Silver Noah’s Ark coins were designed by famed Armenian artist Eduard Kurghinyan. They were created to commemorate the biblical story of Noah’s Ark. According to Genesis 8:4, in the bible as well as the Torah, Noah’s Ark came to rest in the Mountains of Ararat after the Great Flood. In the story, the Creator became fed up with the wickedness of man and decided to unleash a great flood on the world to wash it clean and begin again. He commanded Noah to create a giant ship to survive the flood and to preserve two of every animal species so that the world could be repopulated after the waters subsided.

The silver in the 2014 1 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark coins is supplied by Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitung. Its hallmark can be seen featured on the obverse of all silver Noah’s Ark coins with the trademark “LEV”. The pedigree of this silver adheres to the standards which are set by the London Bullion Market Association. Geiger Edelmetalle (GmbH), a private mint established in Germany has been granted permission to mint these, market and distribute these 2014 1 oz Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark coins.
