$1 Gold Liberty 1855-O Type II XF Details

This 1855-O Liberty Head Gold Dollar was minted in New Orleans and belongs to the scarce and short-lived Type II series (1854–1856). This design features a smaller rendition of Longacre’s Indian Princess with a feathered headdress on the obverse, and a wreath encircling the denomination and date on the reverse. The "O" mintmark below the bow signifies the New Orleans Mint.
