There are very few relics from the past that we can tangibly hold in our hands and be reminded of how far we have come as a country. Plus, there has been so much history lost, it is also nice to go back and read how far we have come. In 1890, the Picture of Dorian Gray was published, both Sequoia and Yosemite were established as National Parks, and the first American Football game was played. Also in 1890, Alice Sanger became the first female to work at the White House. Your 1890 Morgan Silver Dollar was minted by the Philadelphia sector of the US Mint and carries no mint-mark underneath the eagle's tail feathers. Philadelphia was the first US Mint facility and is also one of the last original mints to have minted the Morgan and is still in production. Your coin is considered to be fine condition, with considerable amounts of wear on both sides of the coin.
