Being the bicentennial of the country's first president's birthday, 1932 inaugurated the silver Washington Quarter. Although it was the Standing Liberty quarter that would get cut from circulation, the bicentennial committee had their eyes on ending the Walking Liberty half dollar. The Washington quarter would be in circulation from 1932-present day, with only its alloy changing through the years. When it was first minted, it contained 90% silver and 10% copper but after 1965, most currency was changed to a copper-nickel clad combo. The 90% Silver Washington Quarters bag consists of 100 coins, which equals to $25 face value. All 90% silver is sold for its silver content and not for speciality dates or better condition coins. Those are available individually and sold at a higher premium than the circulated 90% silver coin bags. 90% silver's popularity has drastically increased over the last few years and has become more difficult to find in bulk. Invest in this historical silver while supplies last!
