  • Description:

Sacagawea was the second female, to be featured on a US coin, that wasn't Lady Liberty. Following the footsteps of Susan B. Anthony, Sacagawea also has made a monumental impact on the women's rights movements of the early 1900's. The Shoshone Native American helped guide Lewis and Clark on their historical expedition through the Louisiana Purchase. Since the US was still heavily occupied by Native Americans, the famous duo needed someone to bridge the gap between the cultural divides. Sacagawea has been admired for not only her bravery, but also her strong independence and self-less attitude. The 2007-D Sacagawea Dollar is in brilliant uncirculated condition and carries the "D" mint-mark. Learning its lesson from overproducing the Eisenhower and Susan B. Anthony Dollars, the US Mint practiced a more controlled production of the Sacagawea Dollar, lending to a more appealing collection for collectors of all ages.
