The 2006 Timber Wolf Half Ounce silver coin is not officially a part of the Wildlife series but it is was inspired the popular collection. The Royal Canadian Mint only produced about 100,000 of these half ounce beauties and collectors, nationwide, haven't been able to stop talking about them since. The Royal Canadian Mint is definitely admired for its creativity, when it comes to deciding coins and series to mint. Although the RCM is understandingly loyal to its Maple Leaf series, it also enjoy keeping investors and collectors on their toes. This may mean random, shorter coin series with lower mintages, like the Wildlife series. Or it might mean just a random half ounce coin with a mintage so low, they will sell out before they finish minting the coins. The 2006 Timber Wolf coin has been enjoyed by collectors, who take interest in the thrill of the chase for low-mintage coins and who also appreciate the delicate design work for a smaller coin surface.
The 2006 Timber Wolf half Ounce silver coin is guaranteed to weigh half an ounce of .9999 pure silver and is in brilliant uncirculated condition. This coin has also been neatly packaged, by the RCM, in an air-sealed plastic pouch for protection. The reverse pictures a lone timber wolf, peacefully gazing upon its natural habitat and possibly waiting for prey to stumble upon that gaze. The moon is high in the sky, insinuating that it is nighttime, and there is a group of evergreens in the background. The reverse is also stamped with the coin's date of mintage, 2006, its weight, and purity. The obverse depicts the expected Queen Elizabeth II, regally poised and frozen in time, with her delicate profile lightly accentuated. The coin's legal tender value and place of mintage are also etched on the obverse of this timber wolf coin.
