Susan B Anthony Dollar 1981-D BU

After the Eisenhower Dollar, the US Mint was desperate in producing a dollar that would gain much popularity. Since the early 1900 Morgan and Peace silver dollar, there wasn't a US dollar that was minted and considered valuable. Since the Eisenhower Dollar wasn't well received by the public, the US Mint wanted to revert back to the old faithful Lady Liberty design. But there were numerous protests, asking for an actual woman to be featured on the new dollar. After voting, social reformer, Susan B. Anthony was chosen to have her portrait on the next dollar. The 1981-D Susan B. Anthony Dollar is in brilliant uncirculated condition and was minted at the world's lead coin producing mint, the Denver Mint. Compared to the other mints, the Denver Mint is the youngest US Mint, first established in 1906. The Susan B. Anthony series is a short collection but ideal for children or novice collectors.
