Originating out of Russia, the Siberian cat is an ancient breed that is believed to be the ancestral link to all longhaired breeds. Similar to the Norwegian Forest cat, the Siberian contains a strong body with thick hair to protect it during the colder months. This cat is also the official cat of Russia and the natural breed of Siberia. An adult Siberian is illustrated on the reverse of the 2013 Isle of Man Silver Cat coin.
