This 1793-W France 6 Livres silver coin was minted in Lille during the French Revolution, under the “Régne de la Loi” (Reign of the Law). The obverse depicts a winged genius inscribing the Constitution on a tablet, with a rooster (symbol of France) to the right and a fasces (symbol of authority and unity) to the left. The reverse features the denomination “SIX LIVRES” within a laurel wreath, accompanied by the “W” mintmark for Lille, with the date inscribed as both 1793 and “L’AN II” (Year 2 of the French Revolutionary Calendar).
