This 1773-Q France Écu silver coin was struck at the Perpignan Mint under King Louis XV. The obverse features a left-facing laureate bust of Louis XV with the legend “LUD XV D G FR ET NAV REX” (Louis XV, by the Grace of God, King of France and Navarre). The reverse displays the crowned arms of France within a wreath of olive and laurel branches, encircled by the Latin motto “SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTUM” (“Blessed be the name of the Lord”) and the date 1773. The “Q” mintmark denotes Perpignan.
