On the reverse design, a lone panda is pictured, sitting amidst a beautiful and intricately detailed forest. The panda looks tired from a day of foraging for bamboo. Adult pandas will eat bamboo for up to 16 hours a day; not really giving it time for much else. The coin is also stamped with the authentication for its purity, weight, and denomination. The obverse displays an iconic structure that has represented China's religious culture since 1409. The Temple of Heaven stands among other smaller structures and is located in the heart of Beijing. The coin's small date of mintage accompanies the temple, proving where the coin was minted since they don't contain actual mint marks.
