In 1986, collectors were astonished by the incredible strike that is on the Proof Silver Eagles. Lady Liberty in a frosted matte finish, amidst a sea of a glossy proof background, is what separates the Proof coins from the BU. The design, on the silver eagle, is usually connected to the Walking liberty half-dollar that was in circulation from 1916-1947. This iconic image's credit goes to Adolph A. Weinman, an American sculptor born in Germany. Weinman's other works are still scattered throughout the US since they represent tons of US history. Another familiar design of his is the Mercury dime, which is mainly traded nowadays for its silver content.
Your Certified Proof Silver Eagle PF69 1995 has earned an almost perfect grade and is sold at a very reasonable price for its value. NGC, a popular grading agency, has incredibly hard standards for what they think is a PF69 coin. Your coin has passed the test and is officially certified and recognized as being PF69! The Lady Liberty, on the obverse, stands tall and proud, yet displays a tenderness at the same time. This design became so popular that the US Mint decided to resurrect it for the American Silver Eagle. Each silver eagle contains the Lady Liberty, dressed in a lightweight robe, with the American flag discreetly draped over her shoulders. One arm is outstretched while the other is clinging onto a bundle of branches. The rising sun, behind her, is slowly coming up to offer hope with a new day. "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and the coin's date of mintage is included on the obverse. The national seal of the United States of America is featured on the reverse of every American Silver Eagle. The reverse also bears the stamp that reveals the coin's purity and weight for good measure.
