After the production of the Peace silver dollar in 1935, the US Mint wouldn't even begin a new dollar until 1970. The Eisenhower Dollar was too big for currency and the succeeding Susan B. Anthony dollar was mainly popular for vending machine use. When the Philadelphia Mint made the Sacagawea Dollar, it used the mistakes from the first two to produce a collectible coin. The US Mint produced the Sacagawea Dollar mainly for collectibility purposes, instead of placing thousands into circulation. This one decision has lent to highly popular coins that make for a great collection. The 2007-P Sacagawea Dollar showcases the famous Shoshone Native American, who bravely led the Lewis and Clark Expedition to safety. Along with Sacagawea, the obverse displays the date and place of mintage, which is Philadelphia in 2007. Shining with its perfect brilliant uncirculated finish, the Sacagawea Dollar set is a stunning collection for any collector!
