  • Description:

Being its first year for the Peace Silver dollar production, the 1922-D Peace dollar is on every silver dollar collector's list. Only established in 1906, which is considered young for the almost 200 year old mints, the Denver Mint mainly produced commemoratives or mint sets. Coin collectors will see the "D" mint-mark from time to time, on silver coins, because the Denver Mint had to aid in fulfilling the requirements of the Pittman Act. Often viewed as the underdog in its earlier days, the Denver Mint has now earned the name of the largest producer of coins in the world! Your 1922-D Peace dollar contains a lower mintage than its counterparts that share the same year. This coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition, exhibiting an attractive mint luster and contains few surface abrasions. Bag marks are also common on BU Peace dollars, but the surface is not abraded.
