  • Description:

The Seated Liberty Quarter series began its production in 1838 and continued until 1891. The Seated Liberty design was used on the dime, quarter, and half dollar and would be replaced by the infamous Barber coin series. The quarter underwent numerous revisions throughout its cycle as the US quarter, creating varietal types for collectors. Some examples of these varieties are large and small dates, stars and no stars, drapery being removed, re-struck mint-marks, and a die crack at various stages of production. The Seated Liberty collection is not for the faint of heart and is mainly popular among experienced collectors.

The Early Type Seated Liberty Quarter 1838-1891 is offered not for a specific date but for the condition. Any coin you order from this section will be in about good condition, consisting of extreme wear and a barely readable date. The quarters offered here can range from 1838-1891 but will most likely consist of more common dates. If you are looking for a specific date, we do list those separately and at a different rate.
